When choosing to learn Reiki, there are many choices and it can be difficult to choose. However, when you are ready you are very often drawn to the right teacher so I firstly recommend listening to your intuition.  However, to help you decide on a conscious level, the primary benefits of training with Lisa Pryce-Jones, including some questions that you might like to ask other schools if the issues raised are important to you are as follows:-

  • Lisa believes that teaching Reiki in small groups is essential to ensure that you get personal attention and plenty of practice. You may wish to ask other schools about their class sizes.
  • Lisa has used Reiki personally for over 12 years. Having seen profound results personally she started to offer it to hypnotherapy clients and it was so successful that 99% of clients now request the combined Hypnotherapy and Healing sessions. She also helps people in formal care settings (nursing homes and hospitals). If experience matters to you ask other schools what experience they have offering Reiki.
  • Lisa completed the Sam Buxton Healing Trust training with Angie Buxton-King (also known as 'The NHS Healer' and author of 'The NHS Healer - Onwards and Upwards') which enables Lisa to work in hospitals and hospices.
  • Lisa trained with Raven Keyes (named as best Reiki Master in New York) and author of 'The Healing Power of Reiki as a Medical Reiki Master which enables her to give Reiki before, during and following surgery.
  • Lisa is committed to delivering the highest standard of Reiki sessions and training courses. Accordingly Lisa is a member of the UK Reiki Federation (largest Reiki only professional organisation in the UK and Europe). If accreditation matters to you ask other schools about their membership of professional bodies.
  • Lisa is a member of the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), which was set up by the Government to protect the public, and is effectively a register of complementary healthcare practitioners who meet the set National Occupational Standards. If making yourself and prospective clients and trainees feel safe is important to you ask other schools about their membership of the CNHC.
  • All Reiki courses taught by Lisa are accredited by the International Practitioner of Holistic Medicine.
  • Lisa’s Reiki lineage (list of Reiki Master Teachers starting with the person who taught her and going back, teacher by teacher, to the founder of Reiki Mikao Usui) shows that Lisa is 10th in line. Completing your training with Lisa results in your lineage being 11th in line. Lisa’s Reiki lineage chart is included in the course materials. In order to apply for membership of awarding bodies or insurance to practice Reiki you will need to provide your lineage (online courses and attunements do not qualify). You may wish to ask other schools about their lineage.
  • Lisa started her Reiki journey in 2010 when she completed Reiki 1 (Master Grace Jones). She became a Spiritual Healer in 2016 and then a Reiki 2 Practitioner (Master June Wilkinson) in 2017. In order to fully embrace the Reiki experience Lisa travelled to Japan in 2019 where she completed her Reiki Master/Teacher Degree (Master Riebl). As part of this life changing journey Lisa stayed in Kyoto which is the traditional part of Japan, visited Mount Karuma (the birthplace of Reiki), zen gardens, shrines, palaces, meditated with monks, bathed in natural hot water springs and travelled to Tokyo to pay respects at Dr Usui’s resting place. She also learned how to write the Japanese symbols in a calligraphy class. You may wish to ask other schools about their knowledge and experience of Japan.
  • Lisa offers regular Reiki shares where you are able to both give and receive Reiki to other Reiki trained people (all levels) which is a great way to gain experience. You may wish to ask other schools what Reiki shares they offer.
  • Learning Reiki is a very personal experience and you will be able to share, should you wish to, in a supportive learning environment.
  • Our courses comply with the national occupational standards including the required number of hours for face to face training. There are no short cuts if you want quality training. If quality matters you may wish to ask other schools what the course hours are and if lower why they do not meet the required hours for the national occupational standards.
  • It is important that you are able to see a full syllabus before you start the course and that this has sufficient depth to enable you to start in full practice as soon as you qualify. Our prospectus lists all elements of the course. You may wish to ask other schools to see their syllabus.
  • Our course also includes business/practice management. So often Reiki therapists fall at the first hurdle because, while they may be wonderful at what they do, they don’t know how to get the clients. Lisa shares her knowledge and experience in this area so that you can benefit straight away.
  • Lisa has a discussion with all prospective students prior to registering and paying for the class to ensure that the fit is right for everyone. Whilst Reiki 1 and 2 can be completed by any person interested in Reiki in order to practice professionally then you must be suitable to work with vulnerable people. If Lisa feels that you are not suited to progress then Lisa will be honest and tell you why and help you where possible by directing you more appropriately.
  • All our policies, including equal opportunities are actively in place. We will make any reasonable adjustments to ensure that anyone can take our courses, if suitable, and we do not discriminate on any grounds. Any special leaning needs will be catered to if possible. For example a student with dyslexia would be able to provide portfolio evidence in recorded rather than written form if they wished to do so.
  • Student feedback, questions, comments or suggestions are encouraged at any time in the course and consideration will be made to any requests made. Reiki is an “individual” profession in that it is important that you are encouraged to be yourself as a therapist and to find your way to practice. So your opinions matter!
  • Ethical considerations are all important in a field where one is working with vulnerable people. We cover these in depth. Check with other schools as to which, if any, code of ethics they subscribe. They should be bound by a training code of ethics as well as teaching you one for practice.
  • As previously stated there is no regulation of Reiki in the UK but being a member of a professional body gives you long term support including access to resources, on-line Reiki shares and networking opportunities.

If you have any questions about any of these topics (or any others) please feel free to call us on 07427 451992 or e-mail Lisa.
